True Colour Sensors by Sensor Instruments
The SPECTRO-3 series is a family of colour sensors that has been specifically designed for "true-colour" detection ("human colour reception") and high switching frequencies. The sensors are not affected by changes in ambient lighting conditions and are available in several housing styles as well as fibre optic making it suitable for any colour identification application. With the free SPECTRO 3-Scope software illumination can also be turned off with a simple mouse-click, which then also allows the colour and brightness inspection of self-luminous objects such as LEDs, automobile tail lights, halogen lamps, or fluorescent lamps. Up to 31 colours can be stored on board with the output given through 5 transistorised outputs either directly or as a binary code. A high-performance UV light source allows a colour and brightness differentiation of fluorescent colours and different optical frontends make it possible to detect at distances of up to 1000mm, with detection areas of Ø 0.5 mm to approx. Ø 100 mm.
